Hi all again

well almost through day 3 and feeling in a positive frame.

Bison, I guess we all have footballers knees/legs on here- keep them covered for now.
I am a teacher but also have a 2 and 4 year old, so all my life (bar hols) are stressful, as we have has a particularly stressful year. Hence why I have only just started this now- put on 1.75 st over the last academic year. That's how stressful it has been. What age do you teach?
My fave products are - choc mint shake -iced and slushy or hot choc,  choc tetra on ice or hot, bars-all of them, apple porridge.
I think we need some recipes to expand our variety of pack foods!

Wow Eve - you've got bars! My counsellor said they're not allowed on ss - I'm seeing her on Friday so I'll see what she says.  Also, what is choc tetra? I did buy a porridge with apple & cinammon but haven't got the courage to try it yet because I hated the normal porridge. Maybe I'll try it for breakfast tomorrow.

Must admit I've only just got up - I just had to go to bed at 8pm - absolutely no energy.  So now I'm on my second wave and hope I can stay awake till midnight and then have a normal sleep.

hi tish

you can have bars after the 2nd week, but my counsellor is adaptable and leniant.
Choc tetra is a ready made packet of milk shake, much sweeter than the shakes and can be frozen into icecream, or an ice cold thick shake. Tetras also come in banana and strawberry
I don't like the plain porridge, I think it tastes metallic; but the apple is lovely I think.
Eve

The crisps are really easy, just mix on of the soups with a little hot water to make a kind of paste. Spread this out onto some baking/parchment paper and put into the microwave for about 30 secs. You have to watch it all of the time because they can burn very quickly but as soon as the middle starts to go a bit brown, take them out, peel off the paper and break into smaller pieces.

You can also make ice cream out of the normal shake packs by blending with about 12 ice cubes and a couple of tablespoons of water (this is really yummy and seems to make LOADS) and you can make "cake" type things by mixing a shake with a little hot water (i do it in a ramakin dish) so that it is a thick paste mix, then put in the microwave for about a minute and it comes out like a sponge cake (kind of Wink) by varing the amount of time you microwave it for you it can be either moist pudding-like to sponge cake consistancy Big smile

Thank you guys for your recipes!  They sound ummmm ...... differentLOL I'll be getting soups tomorrow night so I'll try the crisp things over the weekend but will def try the cup cake things later today.

Really pleased this morning because I've lost another 1lb - that's 7lbs now in a week!!!!

Haven't had my breakfast yet so I'm going to try the porridge with apple and see how it goes.

Think that this forum helps so much with support and ideas - so pleased I found it.

Great loss in three days Eve well done. Thats what is so good about this plan. When you feel rubbish in the first week the results at the end are so good. I know they start to level out to about 3-4 pounds a week (which is still great) but by then we should be in ketosis and feeling more positive. It would take weeks to lose the weight some people have lost in their first week if on other diets. I have made a countdown chart thats on my desktop and i just tick off the days till i get to twelve weeks. Looks scary at the moment but it's satisfying when you get through another day. Just had my first tetra of the day whizzed up with ice. Nearly done a week- wahay!!!
Good luck all. Jen x

Brilliant news Eve - bet that makes you feel amazing!

What a good idea Jen - a countdown to a slimmer you - I might pinch that idea! Its strange that 12 weeks seems such a long long time but if you look back it was only middle of April 12 weeks ago and that doesn't seem that far in the past.  Whats great is that we should all be feeling amazing and much slimmer by Christmas - shame we don't all live close we could have a girls night out to celebrate!

Well I tried the apple/cinnamon porridge for breakfast Thumbs Down mega yuk.  Isn't it funny how we are all so different in what we like  I normally love 'real' porridge, but can't handle these ones at all.

Really looking forward to a nice shake for lunch.
